59 Discovering Who God the Father Really Is

Discovering who God the Father really is changes everything about how we pray, trust, and worship. Not the genie who fixes our problems, not the distant judge from the Old Testament, but the God whose character we can fully trust. This episode continues our Godhead series as we go beyond Camp Jesus to explore His names, His nature, and His heart.

Every one of us has built a picture of God from our circumstances, our disappointments, or even our earthly fathers. But Scripture reveals something different. When Moses asked to see God's glory, God didn't hand him a checklist. He revealed His character (Exodus 34:6-7). We unpack what it means that God is love (1 John 4:8), walking through 1 Corinthians 13 as a description of who He is, not just what love does.

We talk honestly about loving correction versus criticism, why God is called a jealous God and what that actually means, the beauty of being adopted as sons and daughters (Romans 8:15), and how God's omnipresence and omnipotence set Him apart from anything the enemy can offer. We also share real, unfiltered life moments, including a story about health, healing, and choosing to trust God's character even when circumstances say otherwise.

Then we walk through a list of the names and characteristics of God from Scripture:

Advocate (1 John 2:1)
Almighty One (Revelation 1:8)
Amen (Revelation 3:14)
Author and Perfecter of our Faith (Hebrews 12:2)
