Nikki Humphrey (00:00)
Have you ever read about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and wondered, I know they're all God, but what does it actually mean for me? Maybe you've heard the term Trinity or Godhead, but it feels confusing or difficult to explain. What if understanding the Godhead isn't just about theology? What if it completely changes how you experience God's love, hear his voice, and walk through everyday life?
Today we're diving into one of the most beautiful mysteries of faith, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We will talk about what the Godhead is, how we have access to all three persons of God, and why understanding this relationship can transform your walk with Christ.
Hope Mangiafico (00:30)
you
Nikki Humphrey (00:49)
Hi, I'm Nikki.
Hope Mangiafico (00:51)
Hi, I'm Hope. Welcome to Equipped Fellowship where friends become family through Christ. We're two Jesus-loving friends on a mission to share personal stories, resources, and real talk about our triumphs, breakthroughs, struggles, and setbacks. Why? Because we believe you are called to live victoriously and we're here to equip you with Holy Spirit-led tools and strategies to strengthen your faith, transform your mindset, and walk boldly in God's promises. Did you hear the Godhead in this whole intro? Because here's the truth. You've been given
and freshest promises by God. So grab your coffee, lean in, and let's grow together. It's time to step into everything God has for you.
Nikki Humphrey (01:32)
Yes, and today we're talking about something that can feel both simple and incredibly profound and incredibly confusing. The Godhead. Now, before you think, no, this sounds like a theology lesson, stay with us, because we are not theologians by any means, but we are gonna walk you through it.
Hope Mangiafico (01:42)
Okay. you
Nikki Humphrey (02:00)
Because it isn't just about understanding God with our minds, it's about experiencing Him with our hearts. It's about understanding that
God didn't design faith to be distant, confusing, or inaccessible. He designed it to be relational. The Father loves you, the Son saves you, and the Holy Spirit lives within you. And when we begin to understand how
Hope Mangiafico (02:10)
. you
Nikki Humphrey (02:30)
All three work together, our relationship with God becomes richer, deeper, and more
personal.
Hope Mangiafico (02:38)
Amen and and kind of jumping off that point of we're not theologians That's why this episode is actually talking about the practicality that we see in our life and how we walk it out every day with this beautiful unfolding of everything Nikki said so I wanted to put that in there too because ⁓ Even with what you're sharing it still can feel so overwhelming But your intro was wonderful because you talked about the beauty of it
And just for a little back knowledge for the listener, the reason we even landed here this week specifically is we use those three terms just like in our intro, Jesus, Holy Spirit, God, all the time. And it like stuck out to me in the last episode, if you've already listened to it, if not, you should, how often we'd use those. And it's almost like this internal knowing.
each one without actually having natural comprehension of it. It's the only way I know how to describe it.
Nikki Humphrey (03:37)
Absolutely. Because I was digging deep into this before I sat down with the father to get some real revelation for the podcast today. And I have like pages and pages and pages of notes trying to like figure it all out. And then I was like, yeah, I'm no theologian. Like I'm not a pastor. I'm not, but like hope's just said it's that internal knowing that you know it's there.
Hope Mangiafico (03:40)
EEEH
Right.
Nikki Humphrey (04:06)
And you know all three are with you and for you, working together always for your benefit. And we have access, everyone does, to it.
Hope Mangiafico (04:21)
Yes.
To all of them. It's, I don't know. It's like, I feel like it's the truest example of I just know that I know that I know that I know. And
Nikki Humphrey (04:31)
Yes.
Hope Mangiafico (04:34)
As you were just speaking, as we step into the episode prior to the recording, I was like, I had some really good notes and we'll share it in a future episode. But as you were speaking, it all came back to me. That might be a good statement to make as we walk into sharing about our everyday. So this ministry that's blessed me abundantly presents it as in God spoke it, Jesus did it, Holy Spirit gives us the power to live it out, basically.
Nikki Humphrey (05:05)
Yes.
Hope Mangiafico (05:05)
And I
think as we move forward in this episode, keeping that in the back of our mind helps us see, as Nikki and I talk about our own journeys, how we can see, okay, God spoke it, Jesus did it, Holy Spirit gives us the power to do all these things.
Nikki Humphrey (05:21)
Yes, yes. And to anchor that in Scripture, Matthew twenty eight, nineteen says, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. It's not plural. He's saying the names as singular, one God, three persons.
Hope Mangiafico (05:41)
Hmm.
Mm.
Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Nikki Humphrey (05:48)
And it's something that it's so hard to like mentally wrap your head around. And I was just doodling and I was just like, okay, think of it this way: the Father is not Jesus. Jesus is not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not the Father. Yet all are fully God.
But they
all have a succinct job to do a s a mission, a purpose.
Hope Mangiafico (06:20)
Yes, it's phenomenal.
Something that I really liked that you shared is how we have access to all three. And I think that's something we should actually discuss first and foremost before we talk about how we see it in our own lives. Because I think I still run into people that don't grasp that. And so they're missing part of God's promises, the gifts, being able to bless others, know, being fully free. So let's dive into that.
Nikki Humphrey (06:51)
Yes. And this is the theme of our last few episodes too. If you go back, you're gonna see this woven in and out. It's that we access the Godhead through relationship, through having a relationship with God the Father. And anytime you have a close relationship with somebody, like Hope and I have a very close relationship with something, you get more access to the person. You see multiple
Hope Mangiafico (07:13)
you
Nikki Humphrey (07:21)
facets of the same person. You get the most truest authentic version of that person in front of you. And the same thing is with the Godhead. When you have a solid relationship with God the Father, he allows you access to Jesus in the Holy Spirit.
Hope Mangiafico (07:43)
Yeah. Yeah. ⁓
Nikki Humphrey (07:45)
And it's not through performance, it's not how we perform, it's not through perfection, it's not through striving, it's through a relationship with God. And Ephesians two eighteen says, for through him we both have access to the Father by one spirit.
Hope Mangiafico (08:07)
What you just shared is so fascinating and I got an image and it was like when we say yes to Jesus, it puts you through the veil. He is the veil and he's like that middle. And once you do that, now you can either camp and camp Jesus and stay there indefinitely, which isn't a bad place to live, but you're missing out on the Father. And because you said yes to Jesus,
He is the way, the truth, the life, the only way to God. So now you get access to the Father and the Father has a spirit that helps us operate in our day-to-day life. So then you also get the boop over on the other side and get access to Holy Spirit. But Jesus is like the doorway and that's something really important to emphasize because a lot of Christianity knows that. But don't stop there. And then you get the Father and you get Holy Spirit because of Jesus.
Doing what he did, we talked about that as well in the Butt God episode of the best butt in the Bible. And he gives us this ability to know the Father so intimately, which has been a journey Nikki and I have over more recent years, I think, have really started grasping. Because you can go your whole life without really letting the Father's love in. We've talked about that many times on episodes. And then allowing...
the Holy Spirit to operate however he chooses because he hears from the Father. He is the Father Spirit.
I had this, yeah, just an image of like, boop, enter through Jesus and then you get to say yes to God as well and yes to Holy Spirit.
Nikki Humphrey (09:41)
And that's almost identical to a note. Identical but worded differently to a note I had. It says we access Jesus through faith, like like you said. And we access the Father through prayer, right? And then we walk with Holy Spirit through surrender.
Hope Mangiafico (09:46)
Yeah.
Yes, yes, yes.
Mm-hmm.
So well said. So you said, Jesus through faith, God through prayer, Holy Spirit through surrender. That is great because that also paints that picture of you can camp out at Jesus.
Nikki Humphrey (10:06)
Uh-huh.
Which is a good it's a good starting point. I was in Camp Jesus for years. I got all the badges on my sash. Like Yes.
Hope Mangiafico (10:20)
Right, but you gotta...
like a Girl Scout. But
then yeah, your prayer life, there becomes a point in your life, and I think Nikki and I both can attest to this, where you camp out at Camp Jesus for a while, you're the camp counselor at this rate, but you're lacking. You feel an emptiness in your life. And you might have even been quote unquote praying, but they were more ritualistic. They were missing that relational aspect Nikki talked about earlier. And once you enter,
I liked what you said. Once you get that relationship with the Father through prayer, heart cry prayers, that like spirit to spirit, that's what it is. We worship in spirit and in truth, bam. And now once you do that with God the Father, you got work to do. You gotta start being obedient. You gotta show up and that comes through the surrender of saying not my will but yours Father, when it's the Father's will.
where Holy Spirit comes in. ⁓ I like that!
Nikki Humphrey (11:25)
Yes.
Yes. I have the goosebumps all over. And it it what came to mind was like on earth as it is in heaven. Like that's how we get that open doorway to that holy exchange of all God's good gifts.
Hope Mangiafico (11:33)
Yes, exactly.
Here it is. I didn't paint it well enough, but as you said, on Earth, in heaven, when I, if you're watching this on YouTube, it makes more sense. If you're listening to an audio, might not make as much sense. When I was saying what I said earlier, I had this like, I was, I had a vision that was more horizontal and Jesus being the entry point, but on Earth, as in heaven, Jesus is the entry point. God's above that you access and then Holy Spirit's the on Earth part. So you turn it more vertical.
Nikki Humphrey (12:05)
Mm.
Hope Mangiafico (12:13)
It's Jesus being that door so that you get that access to heaven and then the manifestation on earth is through Holy Spirit.
This is good and this is, as we're unpacking this, and this is just the entryway to deeper understanding that we'll dive into the next few weeks, it's helping me know how to explain better how these operate in my everyday life.
Nikki Humphrey (12:35)
Yes, 'cause it can get it's distinct in my mind but confusing to explain to others.
Hope Mangiafico (12:42)
Absolutely. something that I heard one time that helped me find peace in the confusion is that all three have their own mind, which is why like Jesus doesn't know when the return would be because he is his own person, three persons and one. So God has his own mind. Holy Spirit has their own mind, but they still have this unity.
And when I started seeing it from the perspective of each having their own mind, it at least allowed me to see that like they're fully operational separately. But they, I don't want to say choose because I don't know how free will works with Holy Spirit and Jesus necessarily, but they have that agreement and alignment in the will, the perfect will of God. And they use their individual minds to make it manifest.
I would say, speaking of manifest, I find that Holy Spirit is the thing in my life, and we've said this on podcast episodes, where it's like the nudges, right? Where it's like, girl, you better move. All right, I gotta make this movement or else the thing is not gonna unfold that I believe the Father is wanting to do in my life or in someone else's.
Nikki Humphrey (14:04)
Right. Yes. And then just this Sunday at church, I had one of those things where I was just like, I was given a word for somebody. I was just like, for lack of a better term, it just seemed like such a stupid word to give somebody. Like it wasn't performed, it wasn't long, it was just maybe two words. And I was wrestling.
Hope Mangiafico (14:26)
Yeah.
Yeah .
Nikki Humphrey (14:30)
I'm like, no, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It's only like two words, like whatever. And it's just like, and then finally it was like, that is her work. Go
like now. And so I told the woman, and she just like broke down. I'm like, I believe this word is for you. I don't know what it means, but I'm trusting that God knows. God said that you would know immediately when I told you that this word was for you. And I told her, and she just
Bro. She's like
And that was it. Like all that wrestling, all that nudging and I was just
Hope Mangiafico (15:03)
Yeah.
Nikki Humphrey (15:10)
Not obedient right away.
Hope Mangiafico (15:12)
Yeah, we've been talking more and more about obedience. And that's a whole other thing when you resist any part of the Godhead you end up in a place of wrestling. Whereas if you obey, yeah, it could have been what 30 seconds of your time instead of 10 minutes or whatever.
Nikki Humphrey (15:15)
Mm-hmm.
It was probably only like a minute and a half, maybe
at the longest my wrestling, but it does seem like a long time when you have to give somebody a word 'cause you're just like ⁓
Hope Mangiafico (15:37)
Becau-
Yeah, the unknown's
timeframes are always, yeah, the unknown space is, feels like an eternity. And if you tie that to what you, how you said you presented it to her, you're like, I feel like God said, like, you know what it is. That goes back to what I said in the beginning. God spoke it. Holy Spirit's given you the power to do it. Yeah.
Nikki Humphrey (15:45)
Yeah.
That's right.
That's what I was saying. Like they're all interwoven, even though like you said,
they all have their own separate mind. But they all work together.
Hope Mangiafico (16:05)
Yeah.
incredible.
and you gather at a church because we are the body of Christ, we are the church and that's Jesus. I had to tie him in there too. Yeah, those nudges are some of my favorite and I'll give an example for today, I'm in the process of just like seeing what opportunities are out there right now and
Nikki Humphrey (16:19)
Yes.
Wait.
Hope Mangiafico (16:35)
You know, I'm like, I'm just gonna say yes, Lord, to whatever. And I had like some pretty good peace about it. And I believe peace comes through Holy Spirit, you know. And I showed up, felt pretty good when I did that last week. And then I had to go back today. And as I'm sitting there, and this is, talking about a job opportunity, I sit down and I'm not someone that usually just goes with the flow like that. I usually feel like,
I can really feel the promptings of Holy Spirit, like in an environment and in a moment, right? When I'm seeking something. But I was like, I had some peace that I don't know what's gonna happen. Worst case, I say yes and God's like, that was a two second opportunity and it's gone, it's fine. Like, I don't know. I guess I'm trusting a little bit more that I having to hear all the time because that's something else that's really beautiful about the Godhead. If God created us as Father, He also,
with that alignment of Holy Spirit will probably tell the Holy Spirit, hey, shut your mouth for a moment while this grows a little bit. So anyways, I'm sitting there and I get a glimpse of something that I don't love and I'm like, hmm, well, God, is that my sign, right? Like was I supposed to, was that you, holy, like was that a nudge? But it didn't feel like a nudge, but it felt like a prompting, right? And then I sit down.
start doing this little aptitude test thing, which I actually love. It feels like a puzzle. I'm like back in school. I told him that too. I was like, this is so fun.
And as we're speaking, he opens his mouth about a potential full-time job opportunity that I would have zero interest in whatsoever usually, but I felt.
Holy Spirit on that. And I'm like, the terminology for the job position sounds absolutely awful, usually.
If it were yesterday, probably would have sounded bad. But in this very moment, I feel a shift. ⁓ And I'm open. Okay. And we converse. I continue with my aptitude test. And we finish. And the more I'm with this person, I'm like, I like this guy. He's quirky. He's older. He's just quirky. That's really all I can say. But I love it. And...
Nikki Humphrey (18:32)
Okay.
Hope Mangiafico (18:52)
We then end up, he like asked me what the rest of my afternoon looks like and I'm like, hey, my best friend and I actually record a podcast. What's it about? I'm like, it's a Christian podcast. And I was like, and today we're talking about the Godhead and boosh. All of a sudden, you could see why I felt that alignment and okay with being open to a job position that I absolutely would never be open to. Through my pressing in, the gates flung open.
And I have felt from the last time I was there, he's hungry for the more. You know, as Nikki has said before, like you're never too old for anything. You're definitely never too old to get a better and deeper understanding of all that is available through Christ.
And it was amazing. Also made me a little behind to be able to record today, but that's okay. It was right on time. And so that's like a real life example that's a little less clear at first, but you're willing to say, okay, I know I got Jesus, Father, I want to obey you in everything. So I'm open to any promptings, any nudges, anything, though not as clear as Nikki had in her church example. And as you just say, I'm here to receive
and a partner, that's the word it's coming to mind, partner with you. You're not my partner, I am yours. I am your coworker. And then little by little and then push, floodgate, like just bust open.
Nikki Humphrey (20:19)
Yeah. It's like those tiny steps of ob obedience opens up the doorways. What's supposed to come next.
Hope Mangiafico (20:26)
Yeah.
Right. And trust them.
Nikki Humphrey (20:31)
And not manipulating
it and not being like, Mm, I don't like the way that job that sounds terrible. That is
Hope Mangiafico (20:37)
Girl. Yeah. Well, that
Nikki Humphrey (20:39)
Believe me, I've been
in the process of like applying for jobs. I'm like, I would have never in a million years applied. But I'm like, Okay. I don't know, something about it. I don't know. Feels like I should do it, you know.
Hope Mangiafico (20:50)
Yeah, well, no, exactly. And you realize, so Nikki, you'll appreciate what the Lord was kind of showing. I say the Lord because I know he's spoken with the Lord. This is real time processing of what this looks like for us. The Lord was saying to me earlier is like, hope, basically, more or less like I'm proud of you because you have a heart for entrepreneurship.
But I don't only want to use you in that realm and sometimes there are going to be moments where that's not even needed. Who defines what entrepreneurship looks like for me? Not me. I've tried. And so I used to hold so tightly to entrepreneurship that I was unwilling to be used in the little or if I was willing to be used in the quote unquote little part time. I need my time to do my dream over here. Well, that's selfishness. That blocks.
the Spirit of God, Holy Spirit, to be able to move if I'm clinging so tightly to something I know is of God, but it's not the only thing of God. By the power of Holy Spirit, somehow I don't have the answer for this. I can do a full-time job, do four other side gig entrepreneurial things. Will they all make me, you know, six figures, five figures? Will they only make me a couple hundred dollars? Maybe, but I have to release.
that one part of my life so I can let Holy Spirit move in these unusual circumstances like Nikki is saying. And you can only do that with proper alignment and being okay with one example we've talked about Nikki and I just personally is like, you know, gonna let out someone's dog or feeding cats. Like it's a servant heart, but not just servant to people, servant to the most high God our Father.
Nikki Humphrey (22:25)
Yes.
Yes.
Right. And I've been watching those dogs and cats and like doing all the little extra things like today at the ho I'm watching the cats and the dogs again and I'm like cleaning up at their house and not that it's like messy or whatever, but just a little tidying like here and there just because like if I'm here, why not give it a hundred percent? Do it like how God would do it.
Hope Mangiafico (23:01)
Well, that's scripture, right? Like do unto, ⁓ do like you're doing unto God.
Nikki Humphrey (23:02)
Yes. And like do it with a happy
heart, not like a resentful like, I'm gonna you know
Hope Mangiafico (23:07)
Well that
too, yeah, yeah, joyful heart, yeah. Yeah, because if your heart's not aligned properly, no one wants the fruit of that, not even you, I promise you. But you can only get that joyful heart by accessing the whole Godhead. And here's something I've noticed.
Nikki Humphrey (23:17)
No. No.
Hope Mangiafico (23:26)
but it's shifting in the whole body and I believe that wholeheartedly. So many Christians, because of sometimes missing pieces of the puzzle and how everything works, they try to force a joyful heart.
Nikki Humphrey (23:36)
⁓
yes.
Hope Mangiafico (23:40)
servant
attitude. Patience. I'm working on my patience. I'm working on this. You cannot without the spirit aspect because he is the power to let you align with what the scripture says about joy, patience, kindness.
Nikki Humphrey (23:56)
It makes so much sense.
Hope Mangiafico (23:58)
right! So much white knuckling still happens in the body of Christ.
Nikki Humphrey (24:04)
And that like you talk about white knuckling, that puts us in the driver's seat again and we kinda like elbow Holy Spirit out of the way if we're just like, I don't need to. Goodbye.
Hope Mangiafico (24:13)
Dude, I have never-
I've never thought about it like that. Like if you're holding the steering wheel so tightly, which is that where white knuckling comes from probably, or like, yeah. So it's like this, it's like, baby girl, let go of the wheel.
Nikki Humphrey (24:22)
Yes. Yeah.
You're
like, no no
Hope Mangiafico (24:31)
That's hilarious. And the beauty further that's coming to me about why I love the whole Godhead is it has empowered me, we talked about trust in our last episode about discernment, to trust that it's not in my power and if I just obey, it is actually the Holy Spirit doing the work. So it's not about my words.
or my actions. I ain't gonna be a fool and act like a ding-dong and say whatever I want because then I've taken it. I've white-knuckled. I've taken the wheel back. But when you really believe that the Holy Spirit is the power of God operating in you, that trust builds so much more.
I'm just not actually realizing that as I'm speaking it.
Nikki Humphrey (25:18)
does. And right now in my life, I'm going through some pretty heavy stuff and I was just like, where is the Godhead?
Hope Mangiafico (25:27)
Hmm.
Nikki Humphrey (25:28)
In these moments. So I wrote down like some big words. And I'm just like, where is you know the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit in this situation? So one of the words I wrote down was uncertainty, because that's kind of where I am right now. And like, what do I need to remember about the Godhead this time of uncertainty? And I wrote down.
Hope Mangiafico (25:40)
Mm.
Mmm.
Nikki Humphrey (25:58)
To remember that Father God has a plan. He always has a plan. That the Son Jesus has gone before me and worked it all out. But it's the Holy Spirit that guides my next step to get on that path that Jesus has gone before me to clear, the follow the plan.
Hope Mangiafico (26:04)
Yes. Thanks.
Nikki Humphrey (26:26)
That God has already laid out. And it's like when you think about those things
and you think back of like, where is Father? Where is the Son? Where's the Holy Spirit in all of this? It helped me make sense about it to me in my everyday life, especially when I'm going through hard things.
Hope Mangiafico (26:33)
Yeah,
that's great.
Nikki Humphrey (26:52)
Yeah, and then another big theme that came up for me is shame. I've dealt with a lot of shame in my life. And I'm like, okay, where was the Godhead during this shame or when shame comes up? Because it still comes up sometimes. And that Father God calls me his child.
Jesus the Son calls me redeemed. And the Holy Spirit confirms your identity in Christ.
Hope Mangiafico (27:19)
Amen.
Nikki Humphrey (27:21)
And it was so enlightening for me to do this. And I encourage anybody. And it's like where where and it all aligns biblically of like they're one person, but like you said, hope three different minds. And then what they do in your life is always complements one another. It will never contradict. If that's a contradiction, that's not from the Godhead.
Hope Mangiafico (27:21)
Yeah. Yeah.
No
Wonderful. I love that. Especially what I love about what you're saying to do and I really want to do this. That's wonderful exercise. Is you're using words that we all feel and that I'm trying to think the terminology. Not that we're afraid of, but I guess we'll say that we're even like embarrassed about or just things that like we don't want to have in our life. But they're part of being human.
and how to journey out of shame and uncertainty, walk it out well.
So you take these terms that make you unhappy. Basically, that's what it is, because happiness is based on happening. So you're currently unhappy that you're in uncertainty or you're carrying shame. And you put that beautiful labeling for each part of the Godhead, and it paints this picture of hope.
and love and every part of who God is. I love that.
Nikki Humphrey (28:46)
And I love that I felt that I wasn't alone. I have a whole team rolling with me everywhere I go in every circumstance, every situation, every up and down. I got my whole team with me. And they has a specific job to do. We roll deep and we roll with purpose and conviction.
Hope Mangiafico (29:00)
presenting it as a team.
You know, I like calling it a team. it's one thing to be like, I got God, but there's something, there's that power of like a team. I like that, yes.
Nikki Humphrey (29:14)
Yes, that's what I felt like.
Well coming along.
Hope Mangiafico (29:19)
That's great. And so here's this was really fascinating as you say that, and yeah, I can like feel the strengthening within me as I think about I'm part of this really amazing undefeated team for thousands of years. We often just only talk about one at a time though. So it creates that isolation unintentionally in our vocabulary. And so we so quickly,
unknowingly, even I'll use me as an example, I operate with all three, but very rarely do I take the time to be like, man, we're all a team. Does that make sense? So it's like, it's very easy to forget to revisit all three because we'll spend time in church or in conversation almost just talking about the comfort of one, the presence of one. And they're all so powerful.
But if you just get stuck on one, not even just Jesus, like we talked about, that's the entryway, but stuck on one in general, you don't have that full empowerment.
to feel like you can handle life.
I don't know if that's coming out well, but in my brain it's like, that's so much of the missing piece for all of us. Because it makes me think about you have one of each holding your arms, right? And we'll say it's God and Holy Spirit and Jesus is in front of you. So you feel fully guard, like protected. But if you only hyper fixate on one,
you've got your missing support somewhere or protection somewhere.
Nikki Humphrey (30:49)
Yeah. You increase your access by
Seeing them all as a team.
Hope Mangiafico (30:53)
Yeah.
Nikki Humphrey (30:55)
And you can check with what you're hearing. So you hear something from Holy Spirit and you can say, God, is this part of your plan? How does this work in your plan, God? Where do you want me to go next? And if you are working with all of them, for lack of a better term, like say you're at a board meeting with your team, you're getting all the input at one time.
Hope Mangiafico (31:04)
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Board meeting. Call it, this is the team, we'll call it a locker room chat. ⁓ Yeah, I really, really like that. I think the biggest...
Nikki Humphrey (31:22)
Instead of just like you said, hope, just one at a time.
Yeah.
Hope Mangiafico (31:44)
thing for every child of God, which we're all children of God, so for every one of us to grasp is the power that is around us and in us.
It's crazy to think that the power that raised Jesus from the dead is within us, but that is Holy Spirit.
mean, if you can settle that inside of you.
think about you wouldn't be afraid of anything.
and you'd have such confidence. That's something I feel, Nikki, as I've journeyed with the Godhead, my confidence in knowing that I'm not perfect, but that I am in the will of God.
people are always wanting to find, and we had an episode on this, right? Like, what is God's will for my life? And they don't want to misstep. But if you can zoom out and do like an exercise like Nikki, you start really believing, I I am God's will.
Every good emotion that I can feel and think of comes flooding in when I say I am God's
Nikki Humphrey (32:49)
Yes.
Hope Mangiafico (32:51)
which is truth, because he chose us, he knitted us together.
and then you lean into Holy Spirit a little bit more when you feel that way.
And would you say, that it's because of the whole Godhead that we're not powerful enough to mess God's plan up? We can delay, we can delay, but like we aren't that powerful to completely like ruin everything and that helps kind of undo some of the shame feelings too.
Nikki Humphrey (33:12)
Yes. Yes.
Right. 'Cause we we can never be more powerful than God. So we can't overthrow his plan for our life.
Hope Mangiafico (33:30)
Right.
You just have to have the heart posture to desire all three.
Nikki Humphrey (33:40)
Yes. To increase like going back to the beginning, that relationship. That's how you access it. You have to be in good in a great relationship with God.
Hope Mangiafico (33:52)
Yeah.
Nikki Humphrey (33:53)
Just like any good relationship, you have to nurture it. You have to be in his word. You have to talk about it. You have to talk with him. You have to pray. You have to work it's all those things. But any good relationship, you have to put the time and effort and patience and grace and all the things to make it work well.
Hope Mangiafico (34:12)
Right. To make it work well, I would encourage anyone listening, myself, to want the fullness. And I think with time, that the desire gets stronger and stronger for the fullness of it.
and it's a sweetness, it's a beauty like Nikki said. And I will say that as you desire my personal experience, as you desire each part of the Godhead more and more, you really do start caring about the things of the world less and less. And the clarity is just more and more clear in every arena of life.
And it's on the Butt God episode. I think, yeah, it was the Butt God episode. Talked about how when you, basically, I don't have it perfect. We'll search to go listen to that one anyways. It was such a good episode if you haven't listened to it. But it was basically like the beauty of,
having the relationship with Jesus and knowing God as Father and walking with Holy Spirit. You don't have to know what the future holds, but the closer that relationship comes with each one, the worst things in life become small, minute. So the worst thing, leaving, right? Dying. But you enter eternity. Your values start being everything on earth as it is in heaven.
everything that is of heaven. And you don't just desire to be in heaven, you desire to see it on earth, like Nikki said, as in heaven.
And there's this oneness that takes over you because Jesus said, Father, just as I, you and I are as one, may they be of one. And organically, there becomes this unity and this beauty that unfolds on earth simply by you pressing in to the fullness. It is not about you trying to reach the masses. You can't unify the world.
But through your surrender, that Nicky said is access to the Holy Spirit, through your surrender of the Holy Spirit, it trickles into other people's lives. And this unity starts to unfold. And you see the will of God not only happening in your life, but in other people's lives.
and that should be our goals. We camp out in Camp Jesus and people talk about Camp Jesus of being like the hands and feet of Him.
that happens through that surrender. And that's how that unity starts to form and we see the good in the world that we're looking for.
Nikki Humphrey (37:02)
Absolutely. That was so well put.
Hope Mangiafico (37:05)
Thanks, Holy Spirit.
That wasn't me. I didn't know how to present today. And I think that was intentional. I told Nikki this, but that was intentional because that is real time Holy Spirit operating. Nikki and I talk many times on these episodes like, man, did he show up? Like what in the world? And we get unplugged. And that is talking about everyday life. We'll use our podcast as an example. this area of both of our lives has that.
Nikki Humphrey (37:09)
Right.
Hope Mangiafico (37:35)
beautiful surrender to Holy Spirit. Not a perfect surrender, but a beautiful surrender. And as we have grown, Nikki and I individually and together for the podcast, we can feel that misstep or that unplugging happening. And that comes with that intimacy. Nikki and I separately pray to the Father and get the downloads from Holy Spirit.
and then real time we get more. And that is a great example of real time for this podcast. And I almost felt comical that I had straight chaos leading to this episode. And so I really had to depend on Nikki's wonderful presentation and Holy Spirit.
Nikki Humphrey (38:25)
whole Godhead 'cause Jesus went before us. God had the plan and Holy Spirit helped us carry it through.
Hope Mangiafico (38:34)
Exactly.
And speaking of God had the plan, mean, Nikki and I have had desires to do stuff together for, I mean, we're at probably pushing eight years, if not the full 10 of knowing each other. And so this has been in our hearts through God the Father for years. But it's that obedience that makes it align at the right time and actually.
going back to being manifest outwardly. And I will forever be grateful in my own life for all three. I will never be able to say thank you enough for Jesus's willingness to do what he did on the cross, the greatest but God of all time. Because without Jesus, none of us could pray and actually be heard because we are imperfect beings brought into the world.
through sin, David said that he was born in iniquity and sin, his mom birthed him. And that's the truth for all of us. But as soon as we access Christ and we say yes to him, we get that direct access to God the Father, which is so hard to wrap your mind around. The veil being torn. We not even direct access, Nikki and I like to talk about him as father. So mean, you get to crawl on his lap. Some people would probably be offended by that.
But if Jesus says, Father who are in heaven, you have to be comfortable picturing yourself crawling in God the Father's lap. And he embraces you. And he gives you that plan in your spirit. And your spirit is what picks up on Holy Spirit. And you get to go out and change the world.
Remember that. Because you matter as an individual and that is all truth for you.
Nikki Humphrey (40:32)
I think that'll do it. That was the best way to end this episode.
So if today's episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who may be longing for a deeper relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, you are loved by the Father, you are saved by the Son, and you are empowered by the Holy Spirit. Until next time, stay equipped, stay encouraged, and keep walking closely with the God.
Hope Mangiafico (41:04)
Amen. We'll see in the overflow.
